Peter Wright has kept his Premier League play-off hopes alive after a stunning comeback win over Jonny Clayton to begin Night 15 in Milton Keynes.
Wright has to win all of his games this week and hope results go his way and he is putting his best foot forward so far.
'Snakebite' came from 5-2 down to prevail 8-5 in a drama filled tie and record a third straight win.
To begin the tie, he missed three darts at double 16 for an immediate break of throw and was punished by Clayton who stepped in for double 20 for the lead.
Wright replied for double 20 to square it up at 1-1 but back-to-back legs from Clayton saw him break and head into a 3-1 lead.
This soon became four legs as Clayton converted double 16 to make it 4-1. Wright stopped the rot with an 81 checkout to reduce the deficit to 4-2.
From there, Wright pounced on costly missed darts at doubles to close the gap to 5-4 down. It was three legs on the spin for Wright as he hit a 13-darter to make it 5-5.
Following that was a pivotal 161 checkout to move 6-5 ahead before he concluded the tie from there in a tie akin to his Premier League campaign.
