Peter Wright finished magnificently with three bullseye finishes for a second consecutive win over Van Gerwen. Wright moves through to face Gary Anderson in an all Scottish Champions League final.

The world’s number one and two players faced off for the right to play Gary Anderson in the Champions League final. Van Gerwen stormed into a 2-0 lead, holding throw with tops then breaking with an 84 finish on double 11. The Dutchman comfortably held once more before Wright registered his first leg of the contest.
“MVG” matched the best leg of the tournament by firing in a majestic ten darter to continue his dominance. The quality continued as Wright finished 96, audaciously finishing with tops and double 18. At the first break, Van Gerwen led 5-2 with a 25 kill after wiring the bull for a 164.
“Snakebite” produced the game’s second 84 finish as he arrowed his third dart into the bullseye. The world number two broke in the next leg and equalised with another bull finish on 130 to maintain a 100% checkout rate. “Mighty Mike” restored his advantage by holding his throw then breaking with an 88 finish to go 7-5 up. The Scotsman missed his first double which allowed Van Gerwen to capitalise and go three ahead.
Wright held and then broke with a double 16 finish to reduce the deficit to a single leg. The Scot levelled before planted his third bull finish of the match with an 83 to go 9-8 up. “Snakebite” finished clinically to go one from victory before a brilliant 92 finish on double eight to reach the final.
