Peter Wright started his hunt for title prolongation at the World Championship with a 3-1 win over Steve West on Tuesday evening. Snakebite revealed afterwards that he's supposedly playing with a broken rib.
''I was jumping over a fence and must have done something. Itโs been killing me for about a week so Iโm going to rest'', Wright told the press afterwards. The reigning world champion has at least a week and a half to rest, because he will play his next match after Christmas.
It is not the first time that the Scotsman has been injured in the run-up to the World Championship. Three years ago he was struggling with gallstones, which cost him his preparation for the tournament. It resulted into a second round defeat to Jamie Lewis.
