Wright to face Pipe in final of Players Championship 19 in Barnsley

The final at Players Championship 19 has been confirmed with Peter Wright looking for back-to-back titles but his first PDC ranking one of the year as he faces off against Justin Pipe shortly.

Wright breezed past World Cup of Darts team-mate Gary Anderson in a 7-3 win which saw him average 99 as he continues his good form which is just in time for the World Matchplay which begins this weekend.

His opponent though is into a first final in four years with Pipe seeing off Ron Meulenkamp 6-4 in his semi-final. The Taunton ace has shown glimmers of his form of old returning this year but has yet to make that breakthrough.

Today has been that breakthrough for Pipe, for players like 'The Force' who have made it into the latter stages the fact that they are not involved in Blackpool will likely make it easier for them to perform.

In terms of Pipe that is the case today with the multiple time ranking winner through to face 'Snakebite' and he has a golden opportunity to make it into a memorable day in Barnsley.
