The action has began at Players Championship 7 with no real surprises early doors in the results coming out of Barnsley with most of the top 16 seeds making it through to the second round.
Among them include Peter Wright, World Champion; who saw off former protege Nathan Derry in one of the early results in a 6-3 victory.
Michael van Gerwen was not at his impressive best but edged past Damon Heta in a 6-4 win to begin his day; as he pursues a first Players Championship title of the season.
Glen Durrant, Premier League Leader is also successfully through; after edging past fellow former Lakeside World Champion, Scott Mitchell in a 6-1 win.
Ian White continued his exploits on the ProTour averaging 105 in seeing off Jeff Smith 6-2; while there were also wins for the likes of Michael Smith, Daryl Gurney and Rob Cross.
Jeffrey de Zwaan also impressed with a 105 average himself in easing past Carl Wilkinson 6-0 and his compatriot Martijn Kleermaker defeated a seed in Joe Cullen in a 6-1 win.
