Despite the playoffs now being out of reach for Peter Wright, 'Snakebite' is determined to finish his campaign on a high with a good performance in front of his fellow Scots in Aberdeen.
In a tough test though, Wright is up against league leader Gerwyn Price in his quarter-final tie. “Gerwyn Price is a fantastic darts player, and he has taken darts by storm,” praised Wright who is currently two points behind Dimitri Van den Bergh in a battle to avoid the wooden spoon.
Buoyed by his victory at the Czech Darts Open over the weekend, Wright is hoping to carry that momentum into tonight's Premier League Darts in Aberdeen.
"I'm an old guy just enjoying darts, and as long as I keep enjoying it, that’s the main thing," says the 53-year-old. “I’ve not really started this year, but hopefully I can finish strongly in Aberdeen."
“My averages will go up and they need to go up, because the standard of player around at the moment is unbelievable and it's great for darts," Wright concludes.
