It's already time for the final round of regular competition in
Premier League Darts. Aberdeen is the battleground of the end of the league phase.
However, there is not much excitement in the Scottish city. Three of the four spots for the playoffs have already been divided. The battle for the final spot for the playoffs is between
Jonny Clayton and
Nathan Aspinall, who happen to face each other in Aberdeen. The advantage lies with Clayton, who is two points ahead of "The Asp. Because Clayton has also won one more weekly title, Aspinall must reach the final in Aberdeen to qualify for the final night.
There is also a minor battle for the first spot in the final standings.
Gerwyn Price,
Michael Smith and
Michael van Gerwen are among the contenders for this. Price is in a good position with 36 points. Smith (33 points) and Van Gerwen (31 points) will need at least one final spot to knock Price off the throne.
Price is guaranteed first place if he reaches the final. Smith can become first if he takes the weekly title and Price does not make the final. Van Gerwen still has a small chance at first place. Then Price must lose the first round and Smith may not make the final. At the same time Van Gerwen has to take the weekly title in Aberdeen and make up eleven legs on Price's leg difference.
