Michael Smith came from came from 3-1 down to see off Martin Schindler who didn't get a chance to win despite putting himself in a superb position at the PDC World Darts Championship.
Smith sealed a 4-3 win in the end and believes that it will stand him in good stead having such a scare.
“I can’t really put it into words. I’m proud of myself for the way I came back,” said Smith.
“I’ve not been at my best. I know I’ve got so much more to give. I know I’m playing well, I know my game is there, it’s just not come out yet.
“You have got to show your character and I have had to do that twice now. You need to get over these scares to hopefully win the event.”
