Gerwyn Price claimed victory over Mensur Suljovic but it had to be hard-fought for The Iceman as the Premier League continues in Liverpool.
Price now moves into playoff contention after an 8-5 win over The Austrian.
Suljovic wasn’t playing at all to his best in the early going with The Gentle averaging 75 and going 3-0 down.
He finally found his groove though and in no time at all it was 3-3 and it was finely poised.
Missed doubles blighted Suljovic though in a match he could have took control of. He missed 12 which allowed it to become 4-4.
Price as a result reeled off three consecutive legs to go one away as he had one last surge.
Suljovic kept the contest alive at 7-5 but in the end it was the Welshman who got over the line but only just.
If he does make the O2, he may look back on this win as massively important in his playoff push.
