Daryl Gurney has given Michael van Gerwen a second defeat in this year’s Premier League campaign with a 7-5 victory for the Northern Irishman.
Gurney was sensational as he continued MVG’s woes as of late and extends his lead away from the drop zone. This also means come what may, Rob Cross will lead the table at the end of the night.
Both players started quite equal but it was Van Gerwen who had the early advantage at 3-2. Gurney though instead of folding kept on his coattails and moved ahead at 4-3.
He continued that by going two clear of the World Champion. Mighty Mike went one behind with a 12-dart leg but Superchin claimed at least a point. The two-time major-winner kept on hitting treble 20’s throughout and did that in the final leg to claim a brilliant victory.
