Michael Van Gerwen produced a clinical late surge to see off rival Gerwyn Price in a brilliant 7-5 victory at the Premier League in Liverpool as his run against him continues.

Van Gerwen averaged 106 in the end as he continued his exploits from the weekend in which he saw off Price to claim the UK Open title.

Price was ahead for most of the start of the contest like in the UK Open tie going 3-2 in front and he produced a potentially crushing blow with a 157 to go 4-3 up and despite a brilliant response to level it up with a 123, Price went 5-4 up and one away from a point.

It quickly turned around though as Van Gerwen soon assured himself of a point from being on the verge and he concluded it from there 7-5 to claim what may be an important two points.
