Glen Durrant has maintained the top spot in the Premier League with a brilliant 7-5 victory over Daryl Gurney as he continues his brilliant start to life on the darting roadshow.
Durrant hit 64 percent on the doubles and a high checkout of 127 in a classic display from the Teesside ace.
Gurney took out 144 for the opening leg against Durrant as he started proceedings brilliantly but another break came in for the latter as he took out 80 to hit the front at 2-1 up.
Durrant's brilliant finishing continued from there as he took out the aforementioned 127 on the bull to break and lead 4-1. He claimed another break of throw to go 5-2 up as he upped his doubling statistics to 63 percent.
He made sure of a point with 88 on the bullseye to break. Gurney snatched a break from there to make it 6-4 and held his throw in a rare occurrence to go 6-5 behind.
His revival couldn't continue as Durrant claimed the victory from there as he gained the two points.
