The Australian Darts Open started this week in Moama, Australia. This tournament has platinum status on the WDF calendar and is primarily considered an invitational tournament for the best local players, supplemented by some top WDF players.
The men's tournament started with 24 players. They are divided into eight groups of three players each. Meanwhile, the first two group matches of each pool have been played. Familiar names such as Andy Baetens, Haupai Puha, Neil Duff, Peter Machin, Raymond Smith, Gordon Mathers and Jonny Tata all started with a win.
Among the ladies, Lisa Ashton and Aileen de Graaf are the two best-known participants. They too have won their first match. On Friday the final group matches will be played.
