AWESOME ASHTON! Lisa Ashton has successfully retained her Pacific Masters title down in Australia. In the final, the four-time World Champion produced finishes of 80 and 110 in a 5-1 win over Angela Clarke.
While the World Series in the PDC complete their trip to Australia and New Zealand, the WDF are also over for the Pacific Masters and Australian Darts Open this weekend.
The weekend started with the Pacific Masters with Lisa Ashton retaining her title. She dropped only three legs in the entire tournament defeating Angela Clarke 4-1 in the final.
While Raymond Smith produced a comeback to see off Andy Baetens 6-5 in the final. He survived match darts but 'The Guru' on home soil found a way.
He produced a 15-darter in the decider to win with an 84.63 average and in the process, he claimed a 10th career WDF ranking title.
This tournament is Silver Ranked on the WDF system, while the Australian Darts Open provides Platinum status and takes place on Sunday. Smith is defending champion in that tournament too with Beau Greaves declining her invite.
Aileen de Graaf and Lisa Ashton head up the Women's field, while Baetens, Haupai Puha, Neil Duff and Peter Machin join Raymond Smith as part of the top names involved in the Men's field.
