Jarred Cole eased past Antony Allen to continue his 2022 WDF Lakeside campaign in a polished display and he was pleased to prove his win over Martin Adams wasn't a fluke.
"I mean everything fell into place at the right time for me, it was one of those games where obviously Antony weren't on his game there but on my part everything I needed at the right time came," said Cole to Tungsten Tales.
"I'm playing an icon in the first round but I think that was more of a case of proving it wasn't a fluke. I've been playing really well recently in other tournaments but to do it on the stage is a big achievement for me so I'm happy to prove it wasn't just a one off."
While he also spoke about Luke Littler and his progression in the game after his opening win with a potential for them to face off.
"He's fantastic, he knows that. He doesn't need me to tell him obviously he's a fantastic player and he's going to go far. But for now, he's an opponent."
