Corné Groeneveld at the double! Dutch ace dominates in Faroe Islands as Benjamin Pratnemer seals Budapest success

Corné Groeneveld who qualified for Lakeside last year has had a successful weekend during the latest double header of WDF action this time in the Faroe Islands scooping both titles.

Groeneveld known as 'Greenfield' took his tally from one title to three in one weekend adding both the Torshavn Open as well as Faroe Islands win. He averaged 85.59 in a 6-3 win over Edwin Torbjörnsson in the final of the former.

It was an even better display against John Imrie in the final of the Faroe Islands Open. He claimed his second WDF title at the time by seeing off the Scot 5-4 averaging 88.85 after winning three of the last four legs.

Elsewhere in Europe, Benjamin Pratnemer made it eight WDF titles in the last 14 months by winning the Budapest Masters. It was two finals in a weekend for Sybren Gijbels who lost to both Pratnemer and the young 14-year-old record breaker Kaya Baysal.

Pratnemer survived a match dart in the last leg before winning 5-4 with three 180's and a 98.2 average. Next up is a trip to Estonia for the Tallinn and Estonia Open in two bronze events a piece in Men's and Women's.
