Beau Greaves came from a set down to see off Sophie McKinlay and claim a third WDF World Championship crown. 'Beau N Arrow' hit a brilliant 89 checkout on the bull to seal it and reign supreme at the Lakeside again.

Greaves spoke afterwards to the WDF about her journey up to now and how she will be back next year to defend her title no matter what hinting again at another Ally Pally snub with bad news perhaps for those who wanted her to switch and play PDC full time.

"I'm just so relieved, I felt so tense up there. I didn't feel comfortable but I did enough and I want to celebrate and enjoy the moment. It's not one of those games where you look back and think I should have played this and done that but I was so happy to win. I felt the pressure I think for the first time in god knows how many years," said Greaves to WDF Darts.

"I lost that first set, I missed three darts I think it was and they were poor darts to be fair, they were terrible so she deserved to win it. But I came off after that thinking just you know just get that second set done and go from there. I think it was just important to get it level before the break and I sort of did what I said I was going to do. I just wanted to win that set and go from there. There's positives and negatives but at the same time I'm still a World Champion."

"To do three back-to-back is hard and you do feel the pressure because it does get to you thinking you want to keep winning and I don't want to lose and it's difficult but I felt I dealt with it well and just focused on my game I think certain parts of it was very poor and at the same there's positives to take from it and I want to be a better darts players and it's just one step towards where I want to be."

"People slate the WDF but at the same time it does give you opportunities to play the Women's Series, it's that stepping stone to better darts. I wouldn't be the player I was now without the opportunities they gave me so I am a big advocate as I think the PDC is great but the WDF is where anyone can enter. Anyone can play. That's the best thing. Deta (Hedman)'s been a big part of that, she's been a youth ambassador, she's been everything. I think Paige (Pauling) and Sophie (McKinlay) are going to be the next one's coming."

But while.the next generation are coming through, Greaves certainly isn't done in her view.

"I can't not play next year. I had it in my head as if I wasn't going to win it. I'm not at my best at all but I'm not taking that away from the other ladies. Darts isn't always about playing well, it's sometimes about scraping over the line."
