It is double success for English players to start the day in reaching tomorrow's showpiece finals as Jenson Walker and Paige Pauling move through at the WDF World Championship.

Pauling was superb in seeing off Jentl Fransen. The rising English star who is a multiple-time World Master in the system saw off Fransen with a showpiece conclusion. She hit a 157 checkout which is the best anyone has hit this week.

Pauling is top seed this week and while she wasn't great to start the tie on the doubles, this improved as she took the first set 3-0 against the Belgian. Fransen won a poor opening leg of the second set but from there Pauling got better as she hit a 17-darter to go one away before completing the win with a 157.

It is double success for the top seeds. Walker who appeared earlier this year at the UK Open and like Pauling is earmarked as a future star saw off Florian Preis 2-1 in sets albeit it was ten points down on his opener. In that tie he saw off Mason Teese 2-0 with a 92 average. In the opening set, he hit a 72 checkout and averted late pressure hitting a 112 to claim the set.

Preis hit back with a 3-1 set success but Walker came back to the fore easing through what was the decisive set with a 108 checkout to complete it. So good are the rising talents that for the most part they have hit better averages than their older counterparts.
