Roes and Cairns seal Boys and Girls titles at 2022 WDF Lakeside World Championship

Bradly Roes and Eleanor Cairns have sealed the Boys and Girls titles at the 2022 WDF Lakeside World Championship to begin Finals Day in Frimley Green.

Roes defeated Portsmouth thrower, Charlie Large in a 3-1 win hitting double 10 to seal it.

Roes looked well on course to add to his JDC World title after some double trouble for both players, he produced two breaks of throw and swept the second set without reply.

Large battled back into the game producing a 15-darter en route to sweeping the next set 3-0. Roes hit a 180 and double eight to go 2-0 up and one away from the title which he was throwing for. Roes hit another 180 and missed multiple sets of match darts but finally hit double 10 to seal it.

While Cairns sealed a scrappy win over Wibke Riemann 2-0 as the latest player from the St Helens conveyer belt but this time on the Girls side.

Cairns defied a 95 checkout on the bull to take the opening set 3-1 in a good start.

She hit a 140 en route to levelling the second set but it was a final set which went all the way with Cairns pinning double seven with Riemann missing set darts at 2-1 and 2-2.
