Van Peer takes gold medal in singles tournament at WDF World Cup

Berry van Peer on Saturday afternoon won the men's singles tournament at the WDF World Cup. It earned him and the Dutch team another gold medal, after the Dutch team had also secured overall victory.

Van Peer had qualified for the quarterfinals of the WDF World Cup last Wednesday after wins over Marcus Haider (4-1), Reece Colley (4-2), Peter Machin (4-3) and Ricky Dunlop (4-0). Against Colley, 'Bionic' also threw a moyenne of 101.76 per turn.

The tournament continued on Saturday. The Dutchman defeated Bruce Robbins (5-0) and Carles Arola (6-0) to qualify for the final match. He then defeated German Frank Bruns 7-3 in the final.
