April 2022: World Champion December 2022: World Master September 2023: World Cup Champion Beau Greaves completes the perfect WDF hat-trick by triumphing here in the World Cup Singles final in Esbjerg.
Beau Greaves crowned herself the winner of the singles tournament at the WDF World Cup in Esbjerg on Saturday afternoon. She won after an all-English final over Deta Hedman.
Last Tuesday, the women's singles tournament had started at the WDF World Cup. The event was then played through the quarter-finals. Greaves conceded only one leg in her five legs toward the final four and threw two 100+ averages.
The 19-year-old Englishwoman faced Noa-Lynn van Leuven in the semifinals on Saturday. The Dutchwoman was defeated 6-2, while Hedman narrowly won 6-5 over Kirsi Viinikainen in the other semifinal.
In the final Hedman took a 2-0 lead, but thanks to a 12-darter the damage was quickly made up by Greaves. The reigning women's world champion fell behind 3-4 moments later, but managed to turn this deficit into a 6-4 lead. After Hedman made it 5-6, Greaves finished it off with an 18-darter.
