It has been announced that the WDF have taken the decision alongside the Danish Darts Union and Hungarian Darts Federation to cancel the WDF World Cup and WDF Europe Cup Youth for 2021.
The World Cup was set for Esbjerg from 28 September - 2 October but due to ongoing travel restrictions, differing progress in terms of vaccine roll-out and lockdown measures still in place around the world, the decision has been taken.
According to the WDF, a survey was sent to all WDF nations and after 2019 had a record 53 countries, the likelihood of a similar number was small.
Now it will take place once more in 2023 in Denmark once more with Korea adjusting to host it in 2025.
The Europe Cup (Spain), Americas Cup (Jamaica) and Asia Pacific Cup (Chinese Taipei) are also set for 2022.
Similar considerations were given for the Europe Cup Youth in Hungary and a mutual decision was made to shift it from 7-11 July this year to 2022.
