More WDF action is currently going on in Wales with the Welsh
Classic bringing out the darting talent as they battle it out over the latest WDF
titles on offer.

It was not to be on home soil for Llew Bevan with Kaya Baysal
coming out on top in the men’s event as he won 6-3 to secure his sixth WDF
title.
Baysal started on the front foot early on with a 4-2 win
against Craig Dobbins before Jake Arniszewski was thrashed 4-0. He racked up a
91.04 average to send Addison Hefferon out of the tournament with a 4-1
scoreline.
Timothy Jones and Joe Croft were defeated 4-1 and 4-2
respectively as he booked his spot in the quarter-finals. Paul Linwood was
dealt with 4-2 before Pat Scurfield was halted in his tracks. Taking a 4-0
lead, the Welshman attempted a comeback but Baysal stayed strong and set up a
final tie against Bevan
From 3-1 down, Baysal did not look back. He won the remaining
five games with 84 and 146 checkouts the highlights as he concluded proceedings
with a 17-darter to collect the trophy.

Pruim back on the top step
For the first time since March 2024, Vicky Pruim won a WDF
title at the Welsh Open after a brilliant day of action saw her edge out Kirsi
Viinikainen 5-4 in a tense final clash.
Pruim, who is predominantly playing on the Women’s Series with
a title in Event 12, has patiently waited for a long time now to taste success
once more on the WDF Circuit and finally prevails in Wales.
She began the day with a commanding 4-1 win over Lyn Marsden
before Jessica Bonner and Lorraine Hyde were demolished 4-0.

‘The Queen of the Palace’ was next on the cards as Fallon
Sherrock looked to challenge Pruim. However, it was the Swede who came out on
top with a 4-2 win while averaging over 86, her best performance of the day.
The reigning WDF World Championship Deta Hedman was taken
down 4-2 to reach the final with Viinikainen pushing Pruim the distance. Pruim
led 4-2 before Viinikainen barged her way back into the contest, sending it the
distance. It was Pruim who managed to find the winning dart with her opponent
left on 20.
