Hungarian Darts Trophy Sunday afternoon Round-Up | Nathan Aspinall takes down Michael van Gerwen as Gary Anderson set for Van Veen Quarter-Final blockbuster

The Quarter-Finals are set at the Hungarian Darts Trophy in Budapest with Nathan Aspinall, Gary Anderson, Gian van Veen all into the final session of action still in the hunt for the title.

Aspinall was facing off against Michael van Gerwen in one of the ties of the session. One that MVG led to start off proceedings, but in the end Aspinall managed to surge clear at the right moments and halt the momentum of MVG. Van Gerwen went 3-1 up on Nathan Aspinall early. He broke on double 16 after Aspinall broke in leg one with 86. But Van Gerwen hit 61 to make it 3-1.
Aspinall pinned double four to break back at 3-2 and held with a 100 checkout after hitting a 180 in the leg. It was 4-3 to Aspinall who led. He missed 86 on the bull, but he returned for 25 to lead. Aspinall went one away holding after the break with double 16.
He then won it snaring it 6-4 with a 97 average. He took out double 10 to do so. He now faces Chris Dobey who saw off Josh Rock 6-3 in the final tie of the afternoon.

Dobey hit 98 to break and was throwing for 3-0 early doors. Dobey hit 119 to lead 3-0, but Rock finally off the mark on double 16. Dobey went 4-1 up on double 14, but back comes Rock to hit 25. Dobey was ready to go 5-1 up after missing 105 but after leaving 25 with a 180, Rock made it 4-2.
Dobey was one away though from there pinning 48 for 5-2. A 104 checkout from Rock kept him in it at 5-3 but Dobey won in style with a 170 checkout.
Anderson v Van Veen set

Gary Anderson will face off against Gian van Veen in the Quarter-Finals after 'The Flying Scotsman' just about managed to win through against Stephen Bunting.
Bunting broke immediately on double 20 for 1-0. He went 2-0 up holding throw on double eight. Bunting broke again on 62 for 3-0 with Anderson just leaving 40 from 180. Anderson hits 86 to make it 3-2 after he broke back on double 12. But Bunting back for 4-2.
Anderson went one down at 4-3. Anderson hit double 10 with Bunting sat on 76 after not being able to hit 131. Anderson broke back and pinned 25 after missing 122 on the bull. Bunting missed 88 and he returned for 4-4. Anderson held on double 10 and he was one away at 5-4.
Bunting hit 72 with Anderson sitting on 78 to win. But in the decider, Anderson hit 66 to seal the win and head into the final session. A 6-5 winner over Bunting.

While Gian van Veen edged the Dutch Derby 6-3 against Jermaine Wattimena. Van Veen went 2-1 up early in the Dutch derby. He broke on 41. He hit double 16 to make it 3-1 and Van Veen continue to lead. He pinned 68 with Wattimena missing 101 and sat on 60 to go 4-1 up.
Van Veen had multiple chances to go 5-1 up but now he had to regroup with Wattimena at 4-2 down. Wattimena hit double six to make it 4-3 down. But Van Veen was back for 117 to make it 5-3. Van Veen broke again to win pinning double 20.
Clayton out as Ross Smith and Chisnall surge through
Dirk van Duijvenbode is set to face Danny Noppert in the opening Quarter-Final. 'The Titan' won through 6-4 with six 180's to continue his epic form as he downed Rob Cross. While Danny Noppert took down Ryan Searle 6-4.
Ross Smith and Dave Chisnall is the second Quarter-Final tie. Smith faced Jonny Clayton and took down The Ferret. Clayton held on 84 and it was double 16 for Smith to make it 1-1. Clayton led 3-2 who hits 136 for the lead but back comes Smith on double nine for 3-3. Smith broke on double 16 and went one away with a 103 checkout. But back comes Clayton to make it 5-4. Double 10 to Smith with Clayton waiting on 106 and it was a 6-4 win.

While Chisnall breezed past Keane Barry. Chisnall went 2-1 up on Barry. It was big finishes with 155 from Barry in leg two after 109 from Chisnall early. Barry hit double 16 to break back after Chisnall hit 77 to break for 3-1. Chisnall broke again for 4-2 hitting 70 to go two away and he continued to surge away. He hit double six and then broke for 6-2 on 81. An emphatic win.
