Cross sees off Wade to set up final against Price at World Series of Darts Finals

Rob Cross will face Gerwyn Price shortly in the final of the World Series of Darts Finals after seeing off James Wade in an 11-7 win.

It wasn’t a pretty tie between the duo though as Cross averaged 85.2 while Wade averaged 87.5 as it failed to hit the heights of the previous match.

Both players struggled to begin the tie but Cross led 3-2 with a 77 average and 27% on the doubles while Wade was on 77.6 and 12.5%.

Wade increased his average from there with an 85 average to Cross’ 81 to stay at two behind at 6-4 and he clawed it back to 6-5 with a 14-darter.

From nowhere though, he hit a 170 checkout to reduce the deficit to 7-6. Despite that though in the context of the tie, it proved a consolation as Cross surged clear from there despite both continuing to struggle at 9-6.

‘Voltage’ went one away from there with double 18 to make it 10-6 as it looked to be Cross’s place in the final. It was from there as he concluded it with a 13-darter in an 11-7 win.
