Wade denies Durrant in narrow deciding leg victory to reach semi-finals

James Wade who won the World Series of Darts Finals two years ago has a chance to claim the title once again later on after seeing off Glen Durrant in a tense deciding leg victory.

Wade averaged as usual less than his opponent hitting 99 while Durrant was at 102.4 but it was the former who was at 10-9 in the end.

Durrant had an excellent start with a 180 followed by a 105 checkout and he double his lead with an 87 checkout. But Wade came back with a bang.

He made it 2-2 with a 170 checkout after Durrant had missed it narrowly in the previous leg. At the interval, Wade made it three in a row to lead 3-2.

He retained the lead albeit a narrow one at 5-4. This showed at the halfway stage with it locked in at 5-5.

Wade edged in front though after three darts at double 20 were squandered, Wade broke to make it 8-6. From there though, he didn't conclude the tie just yet with back-to-back legs restoring parity.

Wade pounced again on Durrant missing a 170 and made it 9-8. A decider was forced though and Wade served it out with a 14 darter.
