Adams on key to longevity after opening World Seniors win: "It's just enjoyment, I've got a few years yet"

Martin Adams made hard work of his opener at the World Seniors Darts Championship seeing off Dave Prins 3-1 in sets and he admits he got away with it but sometimes that can be the difference.

"I made it hard work I think, bits of the game you think you're chasing, you think you're throwing rubbish and think you're that far behind but you look at the scoreboard and you're not that far behind, you might be a couple of points in front but it's a weird old game darts. But I got away with it, that's the thing," he said to Tungsten Tales.

In terms of his own future and longevity, Adams believes he has got some years left but that he needs to get physical issues sorted out before returning to his best.

"I think the standard will grow but the players are getting older. So who knows, it could work either way. It's like you've seen with the PDC, the standard grew and grew from the inception and think this will do the same."

"There will come a day when I'll have to go you boys are too good for me. If I can get my physical issues sorted out, it'll be good. It's just enjoyment, I've got a few years yet."
