Martin Adams will face Terry Jenkins in the semi-finals of the
World Seniors Darts Championship after safely progressing through.
Adams saw off Larry Butler in a 3-1 win producing a fightback after going a set down and has ended the run of the former World Matchplay champion.
Butler made Adams pay for missing 127 on the bull going 2-0 up and throwing for the first set which he claimed. He began the second set with a 180 but despite being well ahead, he struggled to claim the leg missing two at double 19 for a 98 checkout.
Adams stopped the rot as a result to hold for his first leg of the match. A 78 checkout saw Butler level up. A 60 checkout saw him claim a 2-1 lead with a break to go one away from a two sets lead.
But Adams broke back with an 82 checkout and he was throwing for a set back. Adams hit a timely 180 from there to pin double 18 to make it 1-1 in sets.
Adams stole a march in the third set break throw and a 91 checkout saw him go one away from a 2-1 sets lead which he took to go one set away from victory.
Butler hit a 180 on the Adams throw but handed the latter a 117 chance which he missed on double 20 but the American was down on five and fluffed his line. ‘Wolfie’ returned for double 10 for the lead.
Adams missed darts to break and go one away and Butler took out double 20. The former pinned double 20 though to go one away. He sealed it with a 56 checkout.
