Lisa Ashton and
Neil Duff have booked their spot in round 2 at the
World Seniors Darts Championship in Purfleet, Essex.
Ashton came roaring out of the blocks against Mike Huntley, taking a thrilling opening set with an average northwards of a ton. Although she dropped off slightly in set 2, Ashton still took a 2-0 lead. Then came the Huntley fightback however, as the Welshman battled back to force a deciding set. In that fifth and final set though, it was the 'Lancashire Rose' who triumphed to seal the win.
In the second tie of the night, former WDF World Champion, Neil Duff faced Welshman, Richard Eurig-Rowlands. In a tight match, Duff took a 1-0 and 2-1 lead, but both times Rowlands pegged him back, including surviving multiple match darts from Duff in the 4th set to force a decider. In the fifth set though, it was Duff who finally got the job done to proceed to the next round.
