After Scott Mitchell earlier became the first winner of this year's World Seniors Darts Championship, Jim Long, John Henderson and Paul Hogan have now joined him in round 2.
For Long a tricky, all-Canadian tie with David Cameron was the hurdle he had to overcome. Cameron started well, taking the first leg with a 170 checkout but as Long grew more comfortable, he began to show his quality. Taking a 3-1 win, Long sealed the deal with back-to-back 11-darters.
Pre-tournament favourite, Henderson didn't have it all his own way against legendary women's darter, Trina Gulliver. 'The Golden Girl' actually took the first set and for a short while an upset looked on the cards. Henderson prevailed eventually though, his level improving throughout to keep his hopes of a Seniors World Title alive.
And rounding off the session, Hogan defeated Terry Jenkins rather comfortably, by three sets to nil to book his spot in round 2.
