Colin McGarry edges Lisa Ashton in five-set thriller to reach World Seniors Darts Championship final

Colin McGarry will face off against John Henderson in the final of the 2024 World Seniors Darts Championship after the Northern Irishman edged Lisa Ashton in a five-set thriller at the Circus Tavern.

McGarry started by far the better of the pair, racing through the first set 3-0. Ashton though, fired back with a whitewash set of her own in set 2, sealing it with a stunning 141 for a 15-dart leg. After McGarry regained his lead in set 3, he couldn't put the pressure on the Ashton throw in set 4 as the Lancashire Rose took it 3-1 with legs of 21, 21 and 17.

In the deciding set, McGarry again took control early, moving into a 2-0 lead but when his match winning chance came, McGarry blew seven match darts. Ashton punished to keep herself alive and then took the next leg to force extra time. Sadly for Ashton however, McGarry regained his composure, taking the following two legs to secure the win.
