After losing to Robert Thornton in the final of the World Seniors World Championship,
Richie Howson has prevailed after seeing off David Cameron 13-11 to reach the final of the
World Seniors Champion of Champions.
Howson will now face either Leonard Gates or Martin Adams later this afternoon after taking down the World Seniors Master in a quality tie.
Howson went into the first interval 3-2 up hitting double nine for a slender advantage. A 110 checkout saw him extend that to two legs again at 4-2.
Cameron stayed on his tail though on double 10 to go 4-3 down. It stayed close with Howson opening up a 5-4 lead. But it was 5-5 at the second break with a 110 checkout.
Howson missed 130 for 7-6 but returned with Cameron unable to take out 170 and reclaimed his slender advantage with a break.
Cameron broke back but missed darts to lead 8-7 and Howson hit 60 for the lead again and was throwing for 9-7. A 66 checkout saw Howson hold and make it 9-7. He missed the chance to make it double figures and Cameron broke for 9-9.
Howson produced a 180 to leave 24 with Cameron needing to pin 112 and he obliged to make it 10-9. At the next interval, again it was poised but Howson made it 12-11 and went one away. He hit a 180 and then a 140 to leave 41 to seal the deal.
