Danny Noppert and Damon Heta will face off in the first Quarter-Final this evening at the 2023 European Darts Open in Leverkusen after opening Sunday's action with victories.
It was superb from Noppert who thrashed Dave Chisnall who has won two of the last three European Tour tournaments and has been in great form.
'The Freeze' sealed it in clinical style with a 12-darter on double 10 with the doubles being a deciding factor. After taking a 2-1 lead, Chisnall missed the chance to make it 2-2.
Chizzy then missed more chances to make it 3-2 and Noppert continued to pounce on the opportunities breezing through.
Noppert will take on Damon Heta in the quarter-finals on Sunday night. The Australian struggled 6-4 past Ryan Meikle despite a finishing percentage of only 27 per cent (6/22). Fortunately for Heta, Meikle fared even worse on the doubles: 25 per cent (4/16).
