Quarter-Final set at European Darts Open between Price and Van Gerwen after dominant wins over Smith and Van den Bergh

Gerwyn Price doesn't seem to be letting up at the moment with his superb form continuing this afternoon at the European Darts Open in Leverkusen as he storms through to tonight's Quarter-Finals.

Price averaged 110.49 in the top tie against Michael Smith destroying the World Champion in a 6-2 victory with three 1`80's and 6/12 on the doubles.

To start the tie, it was back-to-back brilliance from both with Smith smashing in a 131 checkout followed by a 136 from Price in anything you can do, I can do better and that was certainly the case as he went 4-1 up.

Smith held through but Price went one away at 5-2 and Price sealed the deal with a break in the following leg in the form of 87 for an 11-darter.

Next he gets a reunion with Michael van Gerwen who he destroyed on Thursday night in the Premier League. It was the usual display from 'Mighty Mike' against Dimitri van den Bergh with a 6-2 win with an average just over a ton.

The usual display with Van den Bergh missing big opportunities to extend an initial lead which were pounced all over and his dismal record against the Dutchman continues.
