On November 8th and 9th, the third edition of the World Seniors Darts Masters will be played at the Nissan Sports & Leisure Complex in Sunderland. A field of sixteen players will compete for the World Masters title and a handsome amount of prize money.
Participants include notable names such as reigning senior world champion John Henderson, multiple major winner Robert Thornton, darts icon Martin Adams and crowd favourites like Darryl Fitton, Chris Mason and Tony O'Shea.
Participants are guaranteed £750 in prize money anyway. Players who win their first-round match will see their prize money rise to £1250.
For the four semifinalists, 2,500 pounds is up for grabs. The losing finalist gets double that, 5,000 pounds. The winner goes home with the top prize of 10,000 pounds.
In 2022, the first edition of the World Seniors Darts Masters was won by David Cameron, who was surprisingly too strong for Phil Taylor in the final. Last year, the title fell to American dart player Leonard Gates. 'The Soulger' triumphed against Richie Howson in the final. Gates cannot defend his title at the World Masters because he is competing in the Grand Slam of Darts.
Winner: £10,000
Runner-up: £5000
Semi-final: £2500
Quarterfinals: £1250
Final 16: £750
