The World Seniors Darts Tour (WSDT) has announced the playing schedule for the 2024 World Seniors Darts Masters. On Friday, Nov. 8 and Saturday, Nov. 9, 16 senior darters will compete for the title at the tournament in Sunderland.

This event was supposed to be the farewell tournament of Phil Taylor, who also stops playing tournaments on the senior circuit after this year. However, the farewell party was ruined because Taylor still does not appear to be fit enough after undergoing hip surgery. This also prevented Taylor from competing in the World Seniors Darts Matchplay earlier in October. Also missing are Kevin Painter and defending champion Leonard Gates. Gates will compete in the Grand Slam of Darts from Nov. 9 to 17.
The sixteen players who do participate will begin the first round of the World Seniors Darts Masters on Friday, Nov. 8. Four matches will be played in both the afternoon session and the evening session.
The tournament gets underway with a meeting between Lisa Ashton and Matt Clark, before Paul Hogan and Glen Durrant take on each other. Then, two-time senior world champion Robert Thornton crosses swords with 10-time women's world champion Trina Gulliver. The afternoon session concludes with a friendly between Richard Rowlands and Andrew Kateley.
The evening session opens with a duel between three-time Lakeisde champion Martin Adams and Chris Mason. For former WDF world champion Neil Duff, the tournament begins with a meeting against crowd favorite Darryl Fitton. Reigning senior world champion John Henderson will battle Scott Mitchell, and Richie Howson will meet another darts icon with Tony O'Shea.
The eight players who survive the first round will compete in the quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 9, during the afternoon session. Then the semifinals and finals will be played on Saturday night.
