Qualifier Prins sets up Thornton Quarter-Final after whitewash win over Lowe at World Seniors Darts Championship

Dave Prins is into the Quarter-Finals of the World Seniors Darts Championship and will return to face off against Robert Thornton this evening.

This after the qualifier sealed every leg en route to victory over the legend 'Old Stoneface' John Lowe in another clinical display from 'The Badger'.

Prins returned from where he left off against Lim by easing through the gears against another legend in Lowe claiming four legs without reply with a set and a break.

Lowe’s average was sat down at just under 70 and Prins aimed to add to it by hitting a 180 and 140 to begin his throw to go 2-0 up which he sealed to go one away from a potentially unassailable lead against ‘Old Stoneface’.

This he did claim as his average was sat at just shy of a ton as he went into a 2-0 sets lead and one away from the Quarter-Finals.

A 116 checkout was missed by Prins with Lowe only able to pressure with a 140 to leave 54 to which he had his first darts at double at the match. He missed two darts at double 20 though and ‘The Badger’ returned for a clean kill double five to hold and go 1-0 up.

Lowe missed another opportunity for an opening leg but returned only to miss further after Prins missed an 81 but again it was another leg where the North East ace picked the pocket with a 43 checkout to go one away from the win.

A win he claimed on double nine leaving Lowe without a leg to show for his efforts with a 71 average.
