Jenkins survives Ashton comeback to reach World Seniors Darts Championship Quarter-Finals

Terry Jenkins was seemingly cruising towards the Quarter-Finals against Lisa Ashton at the World Seniors Darts Championship.

But survived a mini comeback from four time World Champion who claimed a set back and was scoring superbly but counting errors counted against 'The Lancashire Rose' as 'The Bull' forces a latter stages tie with John Walton.

Jenkins got going early doors sweeping the opening set without reply against Ashton and the second set was the same scenario as ‘The Bull’ took out 120 to finish it in style as he went one away from the Quarter-Finals.

Ashton had a wry smile as she took her first leg of the contest and claimed a reprieve after initially missing darts to hold pinning double five to go 2-1 up and one away from a first set of the contest.

With Ashton well back, Jenkins set up double 20 from 100 using the double 19 and made it 2-2 sending it to a decider. Either ‘The Lancashire Rose’ would seal a set or she would be going out in straight sets.

Ashton produced a 180 when she needed it most in the decider and continued to fight leaving 103 and despite missing double 20 for the set, Jenkins wasn’t on a finish and Ashton returned to make it 2-1.

Ashton had a real chance to break but a mathematical error saw Jenkins get a chance to hold. He initially spurned this but was given a second opportunity which he claimed on double 10 and he was one away from the finishing line.

It was a finishing line he reached but he handed Ashton another opportunity but she made another counting error not going for the bull on 104 after hitting treble 18 and instead laying up where Jenkins returned for double four.
