Richie Howson and Andy Hamilton into final at World Seniors Champion of Champions in Blackpool

Richie Howson and Andy Hamilton are into the final of the World Seniors Champion of Champions in Blackpool. This final will take place later in the day.

Both men will then attempt to win a television tournament for the first time on the World Seniors Darts Tour. Howson was already close to the title at this event last year, but then lost to Leonard Gates in the final. 'The Owl' managed to win over Gates in the first round at this edition.

In the semifinals, he proved too strong for Martin Adams. It was 'Wolfie' who managed to win the first three legs of the match, but the next three legs went to Howson. Moments later, Adams did go into the break with a 6-4 lead. After the break, Howson took five of the next six legs for a 9-7 lead. Howson did not give that break away, and with a 13-darter in the 24th leg, he finished it off.

Hamilton was victorious over Richard Eirig-Rowlands in the second semifinal, after "The Hammer" had earlier won over senior world champion John Henderson. Hamilton was in a comfortable position after just five legs, as the Englishman immediately took a 5-0 lead and later ran out to 8-3. It then became 12-7, before Eirig-Rowlands managed to come back to 12-11. Hamilton then decided the match with a 15-darter.
