Taylor survives Wallace scare to reach World Seniors Darts Masters Semi-Finals

Phil Taylor is through to the semi-finals of the World Seniors Darts Masters where he will face either Martin Adams or Tony O'Shea but again, it was 'The Power' not at his best as he survived an almighty scare against 'McDanger' Les Wallace.

Taylor opened the tie with a 144 checkout in the first leg and sealed the opener with an 80 checkout. Before he sailed into a 2-0 lead and doubled his advantage.

Wallace forced a deciding leg in the requisite set but couldn't get a set on the board with Taylor hitting double 14 with his average sat at 82. Again it was another decider and finally Wallace had luck on his side as he sealed it to keep the match alive.

From there, his resolve showed as he produced a 121 checkout on the bull to break throw in the first leg of the fifth set before sealing set five in successive legs to apply further pressure.

Before making it three sets on the spin to send it the distance, but only after Taylor missed a dart at double 20 for the win. But it was a win that was forthcoming for 'The Power' who hit a 41 checkout after back-to-back 180's for a 12-darter to end the run of Wallace.

His final opponent could be David Cameron who is through again after seeing off Colin Monk 4-2. The qualifier has taken down Kevin Painter and Robert Thornton so far and next up it will either be Keith Deller and Richie Howson in a big chance for whoever faces off in the first semi-final based on current form to seal a shock title and go all the way.
