Van Duijvenbode continues charge on home soil with Chisnall win, set to face impressive Gilding

With Michael van Gerwen gone from the Dutch Darts Championship, Dirk van Duijvenbode alongside Danny Noppert will lead the home soil charge this evening in Zwolle after an epic win over Dave Chisnall.

Van Duijvenbode defied a 105 average from Chisnall producing a 103.4 himself to see off the St Helens ace and end another impressive weekend for him in a 6-5 win and progress through to the Quarter-Finals.

There he will face a player in some of his best form of his career in Andrew Gilding who keeps producing superb displays on his return to the PDC Tour.

After regaining his Tour Card earlier this season, 'Goldfinger' has reached a ranking final and has been in the sharp end since then and with a wide open field of sorts, he will hope that he will claim a maiden European Tour later.

In moving through, he saw off Ryan Searle 6-4 with a 98.6 average and a high checkout of 156 en route to downing 'Heavy Metal'.
