Richardson produced a 7-1 win over the former BDO World Champion in a match where not even a switch of darts from the latter could help as the Rushden ace followed up his 7-2 win over Gary Robson on Monday with this statement win.
Jim Williams who was at the top of the standings before proceedings began was involved in his first draw of the competition against Darryl Fitton after being entirely unbeaten up to this point but it could have been a first defeat.
The Stockport ace was 6-3 up and was seemingly cruising to victory but Williams kicked into gear and took the last three legs to maintain his unbeaten record.
Paul Hogan also produced brilliance whitewashing Wes Newton in a 7-0 win where he impressed with three 180's and a 121 checkout en route as the latter failed to take his chances throughout meaning 'Crocodile Dundee' took the points in style.
It was a night of big wins as Tony O'Shea saw off Dean Winstanley 7-2 in another frustrating night for the latter as he was on the end of a fourth straight defeat. Finally there was victory for Gary Robson who edged past Alan Norris in a 7-4 win to claim a second win of the competition.
From Saturday, April 18, nine nights will be played to complete the league with the playoffs set to be played on Monday April 27.
