With the BDO World Darts Championship not taking place this month due to the organisation’s demise, DartsNews looks back at classic moments and matches throughout January from the showpiece event.
Onto 2000 and the first World title for the player now known as ‘The Count’ Ted Hankey. He was in superb form throughout the tournament reaching the quarter-finals without dropping a set.
He faced Ronnie Baxter in the final and took just 46 minutes to win 6-0 including a 170 checkout to win.
