What is the format of the New Zealand Darts Masters?
The format of the New Zealand Darts Masters follows other World Series events. It is the best of 11 legs in the opening round so a first to six.
It then continues with the same in the Quarter-Finals before it is then increased to best of 13 legs in the Semi-Finals so first to 7.
Then the final goes to first to eight legs. This means the potential of shocks is only really earlier in the tournament.

Predictions
Samuel Gill, Head Editor of DartsNews.com sees
Luke Littler making a statement.
After winning the World Matchplay I see Luke Littler making a statement on his return to New Zealand. He said about wanting to win more titles after barely playing any ranking action.
Gerwyn Price also I think will continue to showcase his talent going into the Autumn alongside Josh Rock who is on the cusp of greatness. Chris Dobey seems to crop up in my head too as a potential player who will go far. While Luke Humphries and Damon Heta too seem to be good picks.

Pieter Verbeek, Editor for DartsNieuws.com was short and sweet with his prediction.
It would be crazy to not name Luke Littler as top favourite for the New Zealand Darts Masters after his incredible performances at the World Matchplay. Gerwyn Price and Josh Rock also impressed with good form, while Luke Humphries will look to hit back after a disappointing first round defeat in Blackpool.

Nicolas Gayer, Editor for DartsNews.DE sees one victor from the rest but also a few surprieses.
At the New Zealand Darts Masters, I’m particularly looking forward to watching one of the national representatives: Ben Robb. With his stage presence, relaxed demeanour, smooth throwing style and likeable personality, Big Rig is the kind of player fans would love to see more regularly on the PDC’s big stages. And let’s not forget – he’s also a fantastic darts player. Both nationally and in competitions like the Modus Super Series, the 36 year old has already proven that he has what it takes to earn a Tour Card.
Robb to produce on home soil?
There’s just one issue: so far, he’s struggled to bring his best game to the PDC stage when it matters most.Among the PDC top stars, I can well imagine Luke Humphries successfully defending his title from last year. I also expect Gerwyn Price to maintain his strong form and go deep in the tournament once again. One player I’ll be watching closely is Chris Dobey. Hollywood continues to break new ground in the PDC Order of Merit and is quietly pushing towards the top four, with another outstanding season on the floor. But for some reason, it just isn’t clicking on the big stage right now. Following a disappointing Premier League campaign, Dobey needs to be careful not to pick up a reputation as a player who fades under the bright lights.

Field New Zealand Darts Masters
There is no Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross and Nathan Aspinall due to family reasons from this tour. Josh Rock and Mike de Decker joins the party while Chris Dobey also rejoins proceedings. Damon Heta is a PDC representative also over Oceanic.
Simon Whitlock, Haupai Puha were joined by Jonny Tata, Mark Cleaver and John Hurring. Ben Robb and Dean Reyland qualified through DPNZ Qualifiers. While Gordon Mathers won the DPA Qualifier.
