Williams started the evening by easing past initial league leader Gary Robson in a 7-3 win. Despite both averaging 90, for 'The Quiff' the difference came in the doubles with 7/16 (43%) compared to 3/16 (18%) for 'Big Robbo'. As a result, he will go top for the time being with four points.
O'Shea was facing off against his fellow Stockport ace Darryl Fitton in a match between two fans favourites and it was 'Silverback' who came through against 'The Dazzler' in a 7-5 win.
It was a match that saw Fitton lead throughout until 5-5 when O'Shea put it to parity and from there, he surged to one away suddenly at 6-5.
But he had some trouble in getting over the line, he was down to 96 but in the end it took him 26 darts after initially getting down to 96 and a potentially make able finish. What matters though is that O'Shea leaves the second night with the points.
