Barry Hearn, as well as being Chairman of the PDC also runs such sports as snooker which returns today with the Championship League at Stadium MK behind closed doors.

But despite success with the PDC Home Tour and with sports restarting without fans which could be the case shortly with darts- there is still potential issues still to iron out with darts due to the amount of foreign Tour Card holders who would have to likely stay over in the UK for long spells due to having to quarantine for two weeks.

This would mean either having to implement this at players’ discretion or having domestic tournaments that are non-ranked for UK based Tour Card holders. For Hearn, he admitted in an interview with The Guardian that non crowd based sport can only last for so long.

“After a while, I think the novelty dies off and people will really understand how much we miss atmosphere in sport. But I’m anticipating that from around July, when the government announces the next stage of its plan [for exiting lockdown], we will be allowed some type of crowd.”

“Whether it’s 50%, 25%, 1%: who knows?”
