Aspinall defeats De Sousa in straight shootout to claim PDC Home Tour semi-final spot

Nathan Aspinall is through to the semi-finals of the PDC Home Tour after defeating Jose de Sousa in a straight shootout to claim the group as the action once again went to the final match.

Aspinall started well averaging 91 in a 6-4 win over Jesus Noguera; he followed that up with a 6-2 win over Jamie Hughes despite only averaging 86.6 in victory.

Hughes himself finished off with a flourish claiming a consolation victory but De Sousa was also on the same points as him going into the final game having impressed for most of the evening.

Aspinall went 4-2 up in the early going but De Sousa clawed it back. The difference though came in the deciding leg, the Portuguese ace who is known for his different ways of finishing went two double 20's for victory with Aspinall sat on 24.

The former UK Open champion as a result pinned double six to end the hopes of 'The Special One' and move through to the semi-finals and maintain his unbeaten record.
