This week of the MODUS Super Series is dedicated to Legends Week. Famous and big names such as Steve Beaton, Richie Burnett, Robert Thornton and Martin Adams are among the participants. Initially, Vincent van der Voort was also supposed to participate. However, the Dutchman has now been forced to withdraw due to health problems.

'The Dutch Destroyer' informed Sportnieuws.nl that he is struggling with gout. Gout is a form of inflammatory rheumatism that causes a lot of pain in the joints. As a result, the joints become thick, red and hot. This has led Van der Voort to decide not to participate in the Legends Week of the Modus Super Series. Instead, the 49-year-old will take his rest.

This does mean missing out on some prize money with no daily fee but there is an overall prize. Through bonuses, this can go up to £25,000 for the winner of the season.

In February, however, Van der Voort is still expected to attend the World Senior Darts Championship as usual. The Dutchman will take on former WDF world champion Neill Duff in the first round there. The Dutchman will hope that the pain will have subsided by then and that he will be able to compete there in top form.
