Gardner went 2-1 up on Anderson but the former Auckland Darts Master reeled off five straight legs to claim the win. A 98.7 average and six 180’s capped off an impressive performance from him.
Wright similarly impressed with a 100 average in a 6-2 victory, his doubles were the highlight with 55% on the doubles. He saw off Justin Thompson who is really experienced and could have proved a banana skin for the new Melbourne Darts Master.
