Seigo Asada did the unthinkable and came from two sets down to dump out the in form Polish Eagle, Krzysztof Ratajski who many saw as potentially being a spoiler to the bigger names in this years' World Championship.

Asada was always there or thereabouts and held in there despite going two down and when the finishing line came closer for Ratajski, he showed real grit to level the match up and then go on to win it. He will go on to face James Wade in the next round in a match that is bound to be one of the best remaining ties in round two between the Machine and the Ninja. Ratajski won the first leg to break the throw of Asada; despite missed doubles from both, he extended his lead in the opening set pinning double five with his last dart in hand. He missed a chance for a 160 checkout; with Asada as a result finally getting his first leg on the board. 'The Ninja' put the first set into a decider with a break of throw meaning despite originally being two-nil down he was throwing for the set. Ratajski though pulled it back hitting a 69 checkout to claim the first set. He continued playing well into the next set holding his throw with a 101 checkout. Asada held his throw in a good response with an 80 checkout. Ratajski clinched the set and a two-nil lead after a bit of misfortune where he busted a 126 outshot. Once again in the next set, it went to a deciding leg showing that despite the sets scoreline, they were very evenly matched. Asada finally ended up getting a set on the board; with Ratajski failing to break the Japanese ace's throw in order to claim the victory. He started the next set by breaking the throw of Ratajski to go closer to tying the match up at two-all. Despite that though, 'The Polish Eagle' halted this by smashing in a 110 checkout to gain a break of his own. He started to surge as the finish line edged closer; but despite that it was Asada who sent it to a deciding set winning consecutive sets. He continued his return to the foray; this was with a brilliant break of throw and then held his throw after surviving darts to break from Ratajski. Asada completed the remarkable turnaround with a 96 checkout to dump out the in form Polish ace. for more information about the PDC World Darts Championship, including schedules and the prize fund breakdown.
